The Eucharist: God's Gift To All

The Eucharist is a very important part of my life. Jesus Christ in the form of ordinary bread and wine. That is the key to life. We need to nourish our souls otherwise there is no sense of direction. We need to remember what Jesus has done for us. He gave us His Body and His Blood so we can obtain eternal life. What a great gift we have been given. What extraordinary power priests have to be able to call down the Almighty. When we say "Amen" we don't say it just because it is tradition. we say it because we profess what we believe. It is Jesus right in our midst. What a glorious gift indeed.

Roses: The Scent of Mary

It was a cold Good Friday afternoon. My family and I were going to do the outdoor Stations of the Cross at Holy Hill, a Basilica and shrine to Mary about 45 minutes from Milwaukee. We get there, and there were a lot of people there especially for a cold day as it was. We started to pray the Sations of the Cross. Going from station to station being in deep prayer. We kept walking. The bright sunshine warmed our faces as we meditated about what Jesus had done to save us from sin and death. We got to a set of stairs, stopped, and looked at each other. A divine scent of roses overcame us. A sense of peace came to us. Other people would walk past, but not stop. Didn't they smell it too? The scent seemed to stay forever. No rose plant in sight. No woman's perfume to be smelled. Through the depths of a day in which our Savior died, the scent of life prevailed.
